Icann says corporate use of Brazil internet domains is low

The number of Brazilian companies with internet domains is low and this may cause difficulties for the expansion of e-commerce in the country, according to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann). Speaking to Agencia Brasil, Icann representative Vanda Scartezini said that the market is not being exploited, for lack of incentives to market the domains. She pointed out that Brazil has 3.2 million domains for a population of 190 million, while Argentina has 2.7 million domains for 40 million inhabitants.
