ICANN, Transtelco install managed root server in Mexico

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced it has installed an ICANN Managed Root Server instance in Monterrey, Mexico. Increasing the number of instances improves the overall fault tolerance of the Domain Name System, bolsters the resilience against certain types of cyber-threats, such as DoS attacks, and can reduce the response time that local internet users experience during DNS queries, the group said.
