ICASA launches consumer advisory panel

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has established a Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP) to advise it on all consumer-related issues within broadcasting, telecom and postal services. The CAP will, among others, reach out to consumers, so as to understand their concerns, recommend what   consumer protection research to be undertaken, and promote consumer interests. 

 The CAP, comprising of eleven members, nominated through a public process, will serve the general South African public including persons with disabilities, women, youth, senior citizens and people living in underserviced areas with regards to ICTs. CAP will be officially launched on 09 March.
