Icasa postpones MTR cut after MTN appeal

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) said it has decided to postpone the implementation of new wholesale mobile termination rates (MTR) until 01 May, following urgent legal action by MTN. The rate that operators can charge each other to carry calls between their networks was due to be cut from ZAR 0.40 per minute to ZAR 0.20 on 01 March.
