ICASA to hear comments on community broadcasting proposals

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) said it has received a number of submissions from stakeholders in relation to the review of the framework governing the community broadcasting sector, following the publication of a discussion document. The watchdog said the expected outcomes of the review include streamlined community broadcasting regulations, a review of the community broadcasting licensing framework, as well as operational guidelines for the community broadcasting sector. ICASA has now scheduled public hearings where parties will present their oral
