Icelandic 2017 mobile phone voice subscriptions up 3.4%, data-only subscriptions up 21.2%

Friday 21 June 2019 | 11:35 CET | News
The Icelandic Post and Telecom Administration (PTA) has reported a slight upturn in mobile phone subscriptions in 2018 with Siminn, Nova and Vodafone holding roughly equal market shares. Its annual report said mobile voice subscriptions went up by 3.4 percent to 424,720. The number of SMS and MMS sent increased from 2017 and mobile internet use surged, although the growth has slowed down after the strong rises in recent years with the introduction of 4G.
