Icelandic fibre connections expand 27% in H1, mobile data traffic up 50.4%

Icelandic communications regulator PTA has published its telecoms sector report for the first half of 2019, showing a 6 percent drop in fixed telephone lines from H1 2018, a 20.1 percent fall in xSDSL lines, but a 27.0 percent surge in fibre connections. Total mobile subscriptions were up 3.0 percent to 470,604. Data traffic on mobile networks grew 50.4 percent year on year to 23.82 million gigabytes.
