Icelandic regulator seeks comments on plans to allocate 3.6 GHz spectrum for 5G to Siminn, Vodafone and Nova

The Icelandic Post and Telecom Administration (PTA) is running a hearing with a 17 January deadline for comments on plans to allocate frequency permits in the 3.6 GHz band for use in 5G applications. The PTA intends to give current 4G rights holders Siminn, Vodafone Iceland and Nova 100 MHz allocations in the 3.6 GHz band. In light of uncertainties, the permits will only be valid until 31 December 2021 at the latest
