ICO warns about net-connected Christmas presents

The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) has issued security guidance for UK parents planning to buy internet-connected toys and devices for their children this Christmas. In a blog posting, Deputy Commissioner Steve Wood warns parents and guardians to consider privacy and data protection issues in the same way they would consider the safety of any presents. He advised parents to do research before buying any presents and only buy from trusted, secure websites, to help reduce the chances of any devices being hacked.
