Idea Cellular buys 349.2 MHz of spectrum for INR 128 bln

Indian mobile operator Idea Cellular has acquired 349.2 MHz of spectrum with a bid of INR 127.9 billion in the government's recently concluded 5-day spectrum sale. Idea has acquired additional 2x74.6 MHz spectrum in FDD technology on 1800 and 2100 bands, and 200 MHz of capacity spectrum in TDD technology on 2300 and 2500 bands. The additional spectrum is expected to allow Idea Cellular to expand its mobile broadband network coverage across all 22 telecom circles.
