IEC report helps stakeholders evaluate human exposure to 5G base stations

Thursday 11 April 2019 | 09:28 CET | News
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) published a new Technical Report (TR) that evaluates human exposure to radio frequency fields in the vicinity of base stations. For the first time, it includes 5G base stations and small cells. IEC said its report will provide a vital resource for network operators deploying 5G, as it illustrates test methods and worked examples on 5G trial sites. It's useful to facility managers, building owners and governments and local communities as it helps them to ensure that they are testing their own networks and base stations correctly.
