If no deal found, Hollande wants Google Tax in Jan - report

French president Francois Hollande is prepared for a Google Tax to come into effect at the start of 2013, writes Le Figaro, citing someone who attended a regional press lunch hosted by the Elysee Palace. Hollande will ask Google and the ministers of finance and the digital economy to come to an agreement by the end of the year, writes Liberation, citing a participant at the same event. Google CEO Eric Schmidt will meet the president and two ministers on 29 October. French press publishers want to be compensated for articles viewed on Google News and other such search engines that generate
