IFC invests USD 25 mln in Convergence digital infrastructure fund in Africa

The IFC said it has invested USD 25 million in the new Digital Infrastructure Fund from Convergence Partners Africa, an investment management firm specialising in the TMT sectors in Africa. The aim is to strengthen broadband infrastructure and improve online access to digital services for individuals and businesses in more than twelve countries in sub-Saharan Africa. The fund has a target size of USD 250 million.
