IfKom says OTT providers should invest in broadband network

German communications engineering association IfKom has called for the Geman government to oblige OTT providers to help finance the nationwide broadband roll-out. In a statement, IfKom warned that current progress towards the government's goal of making download speeds of 50 Mbps available nationwide by 2018 is insufficient. It encouraged the government to make stronger efforts towards achieving this coverage, including creating financing obligations for OTT providers.
