Iflix picks Bitmovin to deliver HD experience to mobile subscribers

Wednesday 11 April 2018 | 09:56 CET | News
Austrian start-up Bitmovin announced that VoD service iflix will use Bitmovin encoding to enable the delivery of TV shows, movies and sport in HD video over low bandwidth mobile networks across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Using Bitmovin's encoding tools via Bitmovin's containerised software running inside its own infrastructure, iflix said it's now able to run a heavily optimised H.264 based encoding workflow, delivering exceptional video quality and reach for its 7.5 million active subscribers, including those in low bandwidth areas.
