IFT announces consultation on interconnection points

Mexican telecommunications regulator IFT announced plans to hold a public consultation on the draft proposal regarding interconnection points to the network of the country's dominant operator, America Movil. The announcement opens a term for comments and opinions from the industry and general public that expires on 03 February. At the end of last year the regulator defined the 2015 rates for interconnection fees between competing networks as part of measures to open up the telecommunications sector. As the dominant player, America Movil will have to reduce the amount charged to competing
