IFT rejects Claro TV's complaint against Televisa, Megacable

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has dismissed a complaint lodged by Claro TV (America Movil) alleging Megacable and Grupo Televisa had colluded in various markets. The watchdog said it found no substantial proof attesting to the alleged anti-competitive practices and that the evidence submitted by America Movil's online video provider was merely "accessorial" in nature. Claro TV had submitted its complaint to the now defunct Mexican Federal Antitrust Commission (CFC). The IFT's decision comes after a Mexican court last month annulled the MXN 33.6 million fine it imposed on
