IFT sets rates to access Telmex shared infrastructure

Mexico's telecom regulator IFT has held a plenary session to establish the conditions and rates for operators to access Telmex's passive infrastructure. Telmex was declared a dominant player in the telecommunications sector in March 2014, leading to a series of stricter rules, confirmed in court last summer. In a statement the IFT said the shared use of passive infrastructure is key to market competition in that it requires the efficient use of available resources.
