India loses more than 6 million mobile subscribers in May

India ended May with 1.198 billion telecom service subscribers, which represents an decrease of 4.97 million from the previous month, according to a report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The May decline was nearly entirely in mobile subscribers, which fell by 6.27 million to 1.176 billion in May, while the number of fixed-line subscribers increased by around 1.30 million to 21.66 million.
