India regulator offers 5G trial extension to mobile operators, spectrum auction may be delayed

Indian operators Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have received a 6-month extension from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to conduct 5G trials until May 2022, The Economic Times reports, citing a DoT statement. This decision is expected to delay India's planned 5G spectrum auctions into the second half of 2022.
