India smartphone shipments jump 15% in Q2 - study

Smartphone shipments in India grew a by 15 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of this year. Bu comparison, the global smartphone market grew a mere 3 percent in the period, writes ET, citing a report from Counterpoint Research. The report further indicates that growth was mainly boosted by LTE smartphones which grew 264 percent, Chinese brands, and shipments of devices in the USD 100 - USD 150 price range which increased by 48 percent year-on-year.
