India tablet shipments drop 11% to 3.2 mln units in 2017

Around 717,000 tablets were shipped in India in the fourth quarter of 2017, which represents a sequential decline of 32 percent. Shipments were flat year-on-year, according to a report from IDC. After a significant increase in the third quarter of 2017 and the completion of the Gujarat State government tablets deal, the commercial segment declined by 35 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017. However, it saw a strong 75 percent growth compared to the same quarter of 2016.
