India to overtake Japan as 3rd largest smartphone market

India will overtake Japan as the world's third-largest smartphone market in 2017. India will rank behind China and the US next year, writes Yonhap news agency, citing a report from Strategy Analytics. Revenues from smartphone sales in India will hit a record USD 21.06 billion in 2017, up from USD 16.5 billion in 2016 and USD 13.09 billion in 2015.
