Indian telecom services revenues up 9.8% in Q3

Tuesday 3 January 2017 | 13:01 CET | News
Gross revenue in the Indian telecom services sector fell by 2.68 percent on a sequential basis in the third quarter of 2016 to INR 713.79 billion, according to the latest quarterly report from regulator Trai. Compared to the same quarter of 2015, revenues rose 9.82 percent. Adjusted gross revenue, used to calculate licence fees, was down 5.33 percent on a quarterly basis and up 9.26 percent year-on-year to INR 505.39 billion. The sequential drop in revenue was due largely to a fall in mobile ARPU, despite over 14.6 million new mobile subscribers being added in the quarter.
