Tuesday 4 October 2016 | 14:10 CET | News
Indian online retailer Flipkart reports it has sold 800,000 smartphones on 3 October, the first day of the annual Diwali sale. The total sale value of these 800,000 phones reaches USD 100 million, ET reports, citing two unnamed people directly aware of the transactions. Analysts estimate that Flipkart could sell between 500,000 and 600,000 units during the second day of its annual sale this week, considering the brands it has on offer. Over 90 percent of smartphone sales on Flipkart are exclusive launches.
