Indosat picks Orbital Sciences for Palapa-E satellite

Indonesian communications provider Indosat has selected Orbital Sciences for the design, production, and launch of a new satellite, the Palapa-E. The satellite will use the orbital slot at 150.5 degrees East and is expected to be launched in 2016. The Palapa-E satellite, which will have C-band and Ku-band transponders, will replace the Palapa-C2 satellite.
