Indotel to connect 2,000 digital divide homes in Dominican Republic

The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) said it has joined the national Superate programme to bridge the digital divide in the Dominican Republic and facilitate access to a minimal and effective telephone and internet service in rural and urban low-income areas. Under the agreement, funds will be freed up to provide internet access to 2,000 households in a situation of poverty and with a low level of penetration across 13 provinces, namely Bahoruco, Barahona, El Seibo, Elias Pina, Santiago Rodriguez, Pedernales, Valverde, San Juan de la Maguana, San Pedro de Macoris, Monte
