Industrial Internet Consortium introduces new IIoT accelerator programme

The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) has started a new programme aimed at stimulating the adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). With the IIC Accelerator Program, the consortium will start a number of initiatives. These will include providing information, advice and information to end users of IoT technology who want to discuss challenges with their peers or who are looking to solve complex technical problems.

Since 2014, the IIC has developed seven foundational documents that have become de facto guidelines for enterprises seeking to adopt IIoT tech systems and services. In this next phase of digital transformation, the consortium will apply these frameworks and its member expertise to industry-specific use cases for the benefit of technology end users.

Under the Accelerator Program, there will be end-user leadership councils, testbeds, test drives and IoT challenges, as well as the formation of special interest groups. The first of these groups will be dedicated to Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, with the aim of creating requirements for OTA systems for the automotive and other industries.
