Industry, EU welcome outcome of Netmundial confererence

The final declaration of the Netmundial conference on internet governance held in Brazil from 23 to 24 April was welcomed by industry executives as well as international bodies such as the European Union. Convened by Brazil's president Dilma Rousseff after Edward Snowden's revelations of US surveillance undermined trust in the internet, the Netmundial conference concluded that governments, companies, academics, technicians and users should all have a say in the internet's future direction.
