InfraCo needs USD 85 mln to lay 1,900 km of fibre in Lagos region

Wednesday 28 November 2018 | 09:18 CET | News
The Infrastructure Company (InfraCo) consortium led by Main One Cable says it would require about USD 85 million to build another 1,900 km of fibre in the Lagos region, the Guardian reported. The consortium includes MTN, Airtel and VDT and is to provide 3,000 km of fibre in Lagos within two to three years. The aggregation of existing networks already runs to 1,100 km, so the consortium is working to add 1,900 km. According to the head of regulatory service at MainOne, Ifeloju Alakija, available fibre and ducts are to be commercialised by Infraco.
