Inmarsat approves new Hughes BGAN terminal

Inmarsat said it has expanded its Machine-to-Machine (M2M) portfolio by type approving the Hughes 9450-C11 terminal, the first mobile BGAN M2M-enabled terminal. The company will now be able to offer remote management and monitoring services within industries like transportation and logistics, precision farming, construction and mining. Building upon the BGAN M2M 9502 fixed product line, the 9450-C11 enables cost-effective for satellite-only applications. It can also be used as backup to terrestrial 3G/4G in Least-Cost-Routing scenarios or allow fleet managers to move larger amounts of
