Intelsat high-throughput satellite prepares for launch

IS-33e, the second of the Intelsat Epic series of high-throughput satellites (HTS), is scheduled to launch on an Ariane 5 rocket on 24 August. Announcing the arrival of the satellite in French Guiana, Intelsat has confirmed that IS-33e will provide Ku-band capacity in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean regions. The satellite will be placed at the 60 degrees East orbital location, where it will undergo in-orbit testing before going live at the end of 2016.
