Interdigital Q1 revenues nearly double

Licensing company Interdigital reported first-quarter revenue of USD 110.4 million, nearly double the USD 57.8 million a year earlier. The increase was primarily attributable to its Q2 2014 agreement with Samsung and other new 2014 licensees, and an increase in per-unit royalties due to an increase in shipments by Pegatron and other Taiwan-based licensees. After only a small increase in operating expenses, Interdigital moved to a net profit of USD 29.1 million or USD 0.78 per diluted share, from a net loss of USD 1.9 million or USD 0.05 per share a year ago. The company used USD 7.5 million
