Internet Association files amicus brief on anti-spam rules

The US Internet Association (IA) has filed an amicus brief with the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, calling on the court to overturn an FCC's Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) order which it claims exposes a broad swath of businesses to the risk of frivolous class action lawsuits. The 1991 law enacted was designed to protect consumers from unwanted calls from telemarketers and robocallers.
