Internet Association slams Mexico's digital tax plans

The proposal put forward by Mexico's ministry of finance to impose a new digital taxation regime could undermine US investment in the country, according to a letter sent to the United States Trade Representative signed by nine industry associations including the Internet Association (IA). "Mexico's proposed discriminatory tax regime would disproportionately impact US companies and set a dangerous global precedent," said IA trade policy director Jordan Haas.
