Internet use near universal among German children - study

Almost every child aged 12 or older in Germany uses the internet, according to a study by the German institute for youth on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Among seven-year olds, the percentage is 43, and this reaches 80 percent among nine year-olds. The most commonly used devices are desktop PCs and laptops; the use of those devices is around 90 percent across all age groups. The use of tablets is usually around 40 percent.
