Investors interested in BenQ Mobile after 1 January 2007

Two possible investors have unveiled their interest in insolvent mobile phone manufacturer BenQ Mobile Germany and will make definite offers before 2 January 2007, according to German regional newspaper Neue Ruhr/Neue Rhein Zeitung citing Benw Mobile's joint working council president Michael Leuker. He also said that a smooth transition without job cuts will not be happening. One investor is interested in acquiring the assets of the company and select a number of employees to continue to work at the factory from a so-called transition company that will be formed if BenQ Mobile's insolvency
