Invitalia to invest EUR 38 mln in STMicroelectronics Catania plant

Italian state investment body Invitalia has announced a EUR 38 million loan to help French-Italian chipmaker STMicroelectronics (ST) further develop its M9 plant in the Sicilian city of Catania. The total amount invested in the plant comes to EUR 253 million, with EUR 216 million allocated to boosting production and a further EUR 37 million to research and development in advanced technological systems.
