INX-ZA brings in VPN interconnections via peering ports

Monday 6 February 2017 | 13:32 CET | News
Networks interconnecting through South Africa's Internet Exchanges (INXs) can now use their peering ports to make Virtual Private Network Interconnects (VPNIs) to other networks at no cost. INX-ZA manager Nishal Goburdhan said this additional INX service is available at all data centres linked to the Johannesburg Internet Exchange (JINX), Cape Town Internet Exchange (CINX) and Durban Internet Exchange (DINX). Goburdhan says finding cheaper ways to enable networks to interconnect will help expand the domestic internet by keeping costs low.
