IoT and M2M communication to grow to USD 290.0 bln by 2017

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) communication are projected to be the fastest growing technology segments of the Information Technology sector in the next three to five years, with significant potential investments from companies to secure their computing environment, according to Research and Markets. The IoT and M2M communication market was worth USD 44.0 billion in 2011 and is expected to grow to USD 290.0 billion by 2017. It is expected to have an increasing CAGR of 30.1 percent from 2012 to 2017.
