IoT installed base to grow by 17.5% CAGR through 2020 - IDC

The global installed base of internet of things (IoT) units is forecast to grow by 17.5 percent CAGR to reach 28.1 billion in 2020, compared to an estimated 9.1 billion units at the end of 2013, according to IDC. The IoT market includes applications, analytics/social business, platforms (device, service and app enablement), connectivity and intelligent systems/devices that communicate without human interaction using IP connectivity. It is forecast to be worth USD 7.07 trillion in 2020, USD 3.78 trillion in 2017 and USD 2.71 trillion in 2015, versus USD 1.93 trillion in 2013. IDC expects
