Iran thwarts large-scale cyber attack

The telecommunications ministry has said it repelled a major cyberattack on 08 February that partially shut down Iranian internet services for an hour, Iran Daily reported. Deputy Minister Hamid Fattahi tweeted that "mercenary hackers" had launched "the most extensive attack experienced in Iran's history" against the country's internet infrastructure. Fattahi said the intruders hit "millions of targets" in order to disrupt the network.
