Irdeto helps Spanish police shut down major pirate IPTV business

Digital platform security specialist Irdeto said it worked closely with the Premier League in an operation led by the Spanish national police into illegal IPTV streams in collaboration with Europol as well as police forces in the United Kingdom and Denmark. The investigation was described as the largest to date into a global illegal IPTV streaming business, prompting a raid of 14 separate locations in Spain, Denmark and the UK. As a result of the raids, five people were arrested for crimes of belonging to a criminal organisation, intellectual property theft, fraud and money laundering.
