Ireland approves Fox/Sky merger

Ireland's Ministry for Communications, Climate Action and Environment has given its approval for the full acquisition by 21st Century Fox's of Sky, on public interest grounds. The ministry does not believe the transaction will reduce plurality for any audience in the country. On public interest grounds, the acquisition was cleared in all of the markets in which Sky operates, outside of the UK, including Austria, Germany, Italy and now Ireland.
