Irish govt publishes broadband plan intervention strategy

Irish communications minister Alex White has published a draft Intervention Strategy for the government's national broadband plan, outlining how 85 percent high-speed broadband access will be achieved by 2018 and 100 percent by 2020. The plan sets how the government proposes to ensure the provision of high-speed broadband in areas where the commercial sector will not invest on its own. The minister said he was on schedule to move to formal procurement of the state-provided element of high speed broadband infrastructure before the end of 2015.
