Benin telecoms operator Isocel has received a loan of EUR 6 million from French public investment bank Bpifrance to expand its network, Ecofin reported. Isocel will extend its fibre-optic network over 500 km in the greater Cotonou area, where it currently only has a 90 km network. It has opted to deploy aerial infrastructure fixed on power poles, halving the cost and installation time compared with buried optical fibre.
