ISPA welcomes UK govt broadband USO commitment

The UK's Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA) has responded to the Government's 10 Mbps broadband universal service obligation (USO) announcement. ISPA said it agreed with the Prime Minister that broadband is vital, and welcomed the pledge to get more UK homes and businesses online. However, the group warned that significant questions needed to be addressed, including funding, the impact on competition, the existing European regulatory regime around universal service and how this fits with the current government-based roll-out.
