Israeli govt eases demands on Bezeq for fibre-optic network

The Israeli Ministry of Communication is prepared to ease up on demands it had made on Bezeq Israel Telecom to rescue plans for a nationwide fibre-optic network, Reuters reported. Bezeq has said it is unable to carry the costs of laying fibre to some rural areas. Under the new proposals, instead of requiring Bezeq deploy lines across the whole country, the regulator would allow it to choose where it rolls out its infrastructure, the ministry said.
