Italian ADSL lines fall below 50% of fixed network accesses

Thursday 16 January 2020 | 09:26 CET | News
Italian ADSL (copper) accesses dropped below 50 percent of the fixed network total in the third quarter of 2019, according to the latest update from regulator Agcom. Just four year earlier – in September 2015 – over 90 percent of fixed network accesses were copper, but they have since declined by some 8.69 million lines to 9.75 million, above all due to the 6.62 million rise in FTTC lines to 7.48 million. FTTH lines have climbed by 790,00 over the 4-year period to 1.11 million, with FWA lines increasing by 610,000 to 1.29 million.
