Italian court annuls AgCom ruling on Vodafone SMS tariffs

Vodafone Italia should not have been prevented from applying higher SMS rates to users of some of its revamped tariff according to a ruling in its favour handed down by the main Italian administrative court of first instance. The Regional Administrative Court of Lazio accepted the operator's appeal against a decision issued in June 2013 by Italian telecoms regulator AgCom. The issue arose after AgCom accused Vodafone of failing to inform subscribers to four of its tariff plans that, following a tariff revamp, the cost of sending SMS while roaming may be higher than that originally
